< 2 > Removing armature
(1) Remove handle cover by unscrewing 3 pcs. of taping screws 4x25. and the take off carbon brushes. see Fig. 2.
(2) Unscrew 3 pcs. of tapping screws 4x30 and separate gear housing from motor housing. See Fig. 3.
(3) Remove gear housing cover from motor housing. Then, armature can be removed together with it. See Fig. 4.

Take the reverse step of Fig. 2. Fig. 3 and Fig.4.at page 3.

< 4 > Replacing ball bearing 608DDW of armature
( 1 ) Remove ball bearing 608DDW with No.1R269 "Bearing extractor" See Fig. 5.
( 2 ) Remove flat washer 8. See Fig. 6.

( 3 ) Remove spindle by pushing it from locator side. See Fig. 11. And remove ring 20. See Fig. 12.

< 6 > Assembling spindle section
( 1 ) Mount ring 20 to spindle as illustrated in Fig. 13. And insert compression spring 6 into the hole of spindle.
See Fig. 14. Insert collared pin 8 into the hole of spindle. See Fig. 15.

< Note > When mounting ring 20 to spindle, its grooved side has to be faced to the brim portion
of spindle as illustrated in Fig. 13.

( 2 ) Mount the above spindle to gear housing. See Fig. 16.
( 3 ) Mount spur gear 36 to collared pin 8. And then, mount the parts in the order of washer 824 (thick one),
thrust needle gauge 821 and washer 821 (thin one), to the collared pin 8. See Fig. 17.
( 4 ) Mount flat washer 8 to gear complete 17-35. Mount this gear complete 17-35 to gear housing. See Fig. 18.
( 5 ) Mount the assembled spindle section (gear section) to motor housing as illustrated in Fig. 7 at page 4.

< 7 > When replacing carbon brush, be sure if brush holder is installed on motor housing properly.
And then install handle cover onto motor housing.
(see Fig. 19.)
