In order to format the drives listed above, you must use the following minimum versions of the
FMTSCZ program and overlay files:
ALL = FMTSCZ.LIT 3.1 (152)-4 and FMTSCZ.OVR 1.0(117)-4 or later
FB 1280 = FMTSCZ.LIT 3.1 (152)-8 and FMTSCZ.OVR 1.0(118) or later

1 = AM-4000 boot Proms are located on a small PCB (printed circuit board) (DWB-00191-10) that plugs into the AM-190 board.
In the table above, the revision of the boot PROMs is D00 and the revision of the printed circuit board assembly that contains
the boot PROMs is A04. If you have an A03 or earlier boot PROM PCB assembly, you simply unplug it and replace it with an
A04 or later assembly.
2 = AM-1600 boot PROMs are shipped in an upgrade kit, the part number of which is shown. The revision of the upgrade kit may
not match the revision of the PROMs it contains. If the revision shown on the actual boot PROMs is not at least D00, order
the upgrade kit part number shown.
3 =PDB-000436-68 and PDB-00436-70 require PDB-00172-90, Rev. K00 in all Roadrunner 030 configurations, and
PDB-00174-90, Rev. M00 in all Roadrunner 040 configurations.
4 = PDB-000436-40 require PDB-00172-90, Rev. Q00 in all Roadrunner 030 configurations, and Eagle 100s.
N/A = NOT APPLICABLE OR NOT SUPPORTED
The boot PROM revision appearing in bold in each of the columns is the minimum acceptable revision level applicable to
the disk drive shipped with this notice. If you order a boot PROM kit, you may receive a later revison boot PROM, which
is perfectly acceptable.

Note: None of the drives described in this document are supported on AM-1500 computers.
PDB-00436-68 is supported only when attached to a SCSI-2 interface, or when used with
PDB-00532-10 Adapter Board for SASI based systems.

1) The TE jumper enables/disables the on-board active termination. It has the same
effect as installing or removing the terminating resistor packs, as on most previous disk
drives. That is, if the SCSI bus is terminated at the end of the line by an external SCSI
terminator, or by another SCSI device with bus termination enabled, then the TE jumper
must be removed to avoid a "double termination" conflict. Conversely, if the SCSI bus is
not otherwise terminated, the TE jumper must be installed.

2) These disk drives cannot supply SCSI bus termination power. This is a separate
issue from the bus termination described above. If you use them in a standard AM-1000
or AM-1200 (without a Roadrunner upgrade) you must must provide SCSI bus
termination power in some other way. Many SCSI peripherals, such as tape drives or
other disk drives, can provide termination power. Refer to your hardware documentation
for more information or call the Alpha Micro Technical Assistance Center for help.
