Model: DVD-2500BTCI
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.

Subject: Malfunction of playback with the specific disc.


Symptom: 1) When playing back the Blue-ray disc titled "THE ROOKIE", the
DVD-2500BDCI can not play subtitles normally.
2) Cannot play the bonus track of the Blue-ray disc "ENCHANTED".
3) When customer turns on the parental-lock at "4", "7", "3", and "7", the unit
initializes after turn on the power of unit.
4) The output level of sub-woofer does not set "-5dB" at LLLSY in HDMI Multi
(LPCM).


Solution: We corrected the firmware so that no malfunction occurs.
MODIFICATION: Record each supplied program file onto a blank CD-R.

* Program Files to be supplied:




Note: Upon recording the Disc:
a) When recording the supplied file on the blank CD-R, the format shall be
"ISO9660" and the session shall be "CLOSE".
b) When recording the supplied file on the disc, please use the lowest recording
speed that is available on your PC. If the file is recorded at a higher speed, the
rewriting operation may fail due to improperly recorded data on the disc.

1) Rewriting procedures of the FE/BE ROMs.
(1) Turn the Power Supply of the unit on. Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and
open the Disc Tray.
(2) Put the recorded CD-R on the Disc Tray and press the buttons on the remote
control in the order of "9", "8", "7", "6" and "POP UP MENU/MENU".
(3) The Disc Tray closes, the FL Display indicates "F/W-UP" and the update of
the firmware starts automatically.
(4) After indicating the following version of the firmware on the FL Display, the
Disc Tray opens automatically.
(5) Take out the Disc from the Disc Tray.
(6) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(7) Do not turn off the Power Supply of the unit!
(8) The FL Display indicates from "0%" to "100%".
(9) The FL Display indicates "100%", and then indicates the following of
checksum.
(10) The new firmware is installed completely.
(11) Pull out AC cable from the AC receptacle.

2) Confirmation of the version:
(1) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(2) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display.
(3) Press the buttons on the remote control in the order of "1", "2", "3", "4" and
"DISPLAY".
(4) The following firmware versions appear on the GUI.




Cautions during the rewriting operation:
1) Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation.
2) If the Display isn't turning into the following version of the firmware during the
rewriting operation, wait longer than 10 minutes after closing the Disc Tray.
Then, turn off the Power of the unit and start the rewriting operation from the
beginning again.


Serial Number Range:
We will apply the above modification to the production models beginning from the
following serial numbers. (Last 5-digits)
