Model: No Audio condition: AVR-1610, AVR-1620, AVR-590, AVR-1910,
AVR-790, AVR-2310CI, AVR-890, AVR-3310CI, AVR-990, AVR-4310CI, AVR-
4810CI, S-5BD
No Video Condition: AVR-891

Subject: 1) No Sound output when A/V amplifiers connect to Samsung's
New BD players (BD-C6900) with HDMI.
2) No Video output when A/V amplifiers connect to Samsung's New BD players
(only BD-C6900 for world wide) with HDMI.
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.

Symptom: 1) About No Audio condition: The sound is not outputting from A/V
amplifier in "Dolby TrueHD" or "DTS-HD Master Audio" when A/V amplifier
connects to Samsung New BD player (only the model BD-C6900, BD-C8500 and
BD-C8200) with HDMI.
2) About No Video condition: When Samsung's New BD player (only the model
BD-C6900) connects to A/V amplifier, and A/V amplifier connects to 3D TV with
HDMI. A picture is not displayed when customer plays the 3D Blu-ray Disc
(Monster vs. ALIENS) includes the New Samsung BD player (BD-C6900).

Solution: 1) About No Sound: The malfunction occurred due to bugs in the
HDMI chip of Samsung's New BD players (only the model BD-C6900 in the
USA).
2) About No Video: The malfunction occurred due to bugs in the firmware of
Samsung New BD player (BD-C6900).
COUNTERMEASURE: 1) About No Sound: Samsung tried to modify the HDMI
chip, but they can not improve it. Therefore D&M improved the software so that
the unit operates properly. Please refer to the following Service Information.
2) About No Video: By May 2010, Samsung will improve the firmware of New BD
players (only BD-C6900).

MODIFICATION: 1) About No Sound: D&M improved the firmware of unit, and
issued Service Information with improved firmware. Please refer to each of the
following models Service Information on the Denon Service website.




Remarks!:
a) Only Samsung's New BD player (BD-C6900 for world wide) have the problem
with target A/V amplifiers.
b) AVR/AVC-11 series have no problem.
c) AVR-09 series and before also have no problem.
d) This malfunction is not related to picture resolution, Disc and TV.

2) About No Video: Samsung is improving the firmware of New BD players (BD-
C6900) now. The Samsung customer will be able to download new firmware from
their Homepage, and update the firmware of unit by CD-R or USB memory.
Samsung will not announce this phenomenon at their Home page. If you hear of
