Description of shaver Rechargeable and cord shaver: Housing: Shaving head and swivel frame: Double shaving foil: Double Cutter block: Long hair cutter: Slide switch: 12-240 V charging voltage without switchover Thermoplast, black or metallic gray Metal Frame construction, "Sixtant"-geometry, Nickel, Platinum-coated Plastic, 27 cutter blades, 6 mm diameter Integral part of slide (switch). Shaving head and long hair cutter are working in opposite direction to each other. 3 switch functions 1. on/off 2. for a close shave with locked swivel head 3. long hair-cutting With mains cord-adapter (special accessory)

Shaver bracket: General Information Drive: Power supply:

2.4 V direct current motor. Power transmission to shaving system by eccentric drive. Supply by means of two built-in rechargeable batteries or by direct mains supply. A built-in electronic charger controls the supply automatically, independently of the mains voltage or frequency. A green control lamp serves as a visible sign of charging operation start by impulse-charging at 12 V. at 12V from 100V on from total discharged condition approx. 20 hours approx. 1 hour approx. 4 hours

Charging time:

After maximum charging capacity has been reached, the electronic device switches back to a compensating trickle charge, which maintains capacity. A special charging cable with fuse is available, for use with outlets in car or boats. The most favorable ambient temperatures for shaver functioning is between + 15 °C and + 35 °C. By no means the temperature should be below 0 °C or above + 40 °C when charging the shaver. When 80% of the capacity of the rechargeable battery has been used, a red capacity signal lamp continues to light for 5 sec. after turning off the shaver and operates continuously during the entire shaving cycle. Technical data 1. Amplitude measured at the cutter block: 2. Revolution when run on rechargeable battery: 3. Current input when run on line-voltage (220V): 4. Operating capacity after shaver has been fully charged: 5586 - 4 2.6 - 3 mm minimum 6300 RPM without long hair-cutter 17 mA without long hair-cutter approx. 70 shaving minutes

Disassembly: · · · · · · · Disengage shaving foil (2) with protective cap (1) from swivel frame, and remove double cutter block (3). Remove foam rubber seat (4) from swivel frame (6). Remove bearing screws (5) out of swivel frame, and lift swivel frame (6) from head carrier (9). Remove screws (7) out of head carrier and take off head carrier. The adapter (8) is held in head carrier by spring (10). Pull off plug pins (27), and remove housing screws (26). Take off housing cover (24) and housing bottom (23), disengage slide plate (20) out of chassis (19) and remove. It is possible that leg spring (28) will jump out of spring lever (29). Un-solder PCB (21) from motor and remove from chassis. Attention ! Chassis with motor, oscillating frame and eccenter consists of one subassembly and must only be replaced as chassis complete (19). The eccenter must never he pulled on the motor shaft. The locking button (22) is engaged sideways in the right side of the chassis. The lever bearing (16) with lever (15) hooked into the upper left of the chassis. In the upper right, the pin (17) with spring (18) is engaged by snap action.

Assembly: The assembly is made in reversed sequence. Please observe the following points: · · · · · · · · · Attach PCB (21) to motor by soldering, watch the correct polarity (red connecting wire to marked terminal). According to illustration, hook spring lever (29) with leg spring (28) into slide plate (20), and insert slide plate into chassis. Make sure hook A of spring lever engages into corresponding catch B on the left side of the chassis. When head carrier is assembled, the spring in the head carrier must engage with catch of lever (15), then press lever onto lever bearing (16). Turn housing screws (26) and head carrier screws (7) into thread and tighten. Check if slide operates switch properly. The lever (15) must be able to move into slide position 2 and 3, and be able to return back into position 1. After each repair, remove the used bearing from the head carrier and press new bearings with special tool (order-no. 5889042) into the head carrier. Apply Vaseline to center pin. Insert swivel frame (6) correctly located into head carrier (see illustration) and tighten screws (5). Make sure, the head carrier bearings have not been damaged and the swivel frame is not binding. Eccenter pin must move precisely in the guide channel of the swivel frame. Tighten bearing screws (5) enough without stripping the thread, but tight enough not to get loose during the shaving function. In slide position 2, the swivel frame must swivel backwards and lock. Make sure rubber seal (4) has been insert. Cover cutting parts with Ballistol-oil. Add one drop of lubricant type WD 40 to the long-hair cutter and bearing into head carrier. Check for function and push plug pins (27) into place.

To reduce noise level by reducing vibration the cell and the motor will be sealed together during production in the future. When replacement of PCB or chassis is necessary the following applies: 1. 2. When dismantling PCB or chassis, the seat between motor and cell will be broken and cannot be renewed. Chassis replacement: Damping strip 5586632 must be placed on the motor as shown in sketch. Ensure cells are firmly pressed against damping strip. PCB replacement: If damping strips are not present on the bottom housing (23) then in addition to the damping strip on the motor there must also be damping strips attached to the cell as shown in sketch. Damping strips should not be on cells and on bottom housing together. 3. Reassemble shaver as per instructions. Order number for damping strips: 5586632 (10 strips per pack)

Repair Instructions for the flex control range Apparent defect: Operating noise high Possibly caused by: Bearing (9a) in head carrier defective . Rectification procedure: Exchange bearing (9a) New bearing must be pressed into head carrier with special tool (5889042). Exchange swivel frame (illustration 2). Attach damping strips as per illustration 1 Order no- 5586632 Exchange chassis and lightly coat the eccenter pin with vaseline. Exchange swivel frame and lightly coat guidance hole with vaseline.

Bearing screw is loosened due to defective screw thread in swivel frame. Motor body and batteries on PCB vibrating. Eccenter seat or eccenter pin defective. Guidance hole of swivel frame defective.

Illustration 1 Apparent defect: Insufficient shaving performance Possibly caused by: Shaving foil or swivel frame vibrates in horizontal direction. Reduced rotational speed.

Illustration 2

Rectification procedure: Exchange of bearing in head carrier (Illustration 2), exchange of foil. Thorough cleansing of appliance and checking of lubrication points in shaving area. With a fully charged appliance, the rotational speed must not drop below 6000 rpm.

Control of PCB When connected to 220 V the shaver will draw 21 - 31 mA (3.5 - 4.5 Watts) (110 V, 47-57 mA). Charge for approximately 5 minutes- the green diode must give a continuos light (not pulsate). Unplug shaver from mains supply and measure voltage of each cell. The voltage of each cell must be minimum 1.2 V. If all above points are achieved then PCB is in good condition.

Ref. : New bearing for head carrier From now on a new bearing for the head carrier (white material) with an increased accuracy of fit is available for customer service. These bearings must be replaced with all repairs like loose bearing screws, play of the bearing, operating noise or when the bearing screws have been removed. Push new bearings with existing shaft of double cutter block into head carrier.
